SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
biggest challenges faced by Gujjar children is that they spend
six months moving through hills and mountains. To address
this, the government has opened seasonal schools for them.
However, the community has expressed a need for Gujjari-
speaking teachers in these schools so that their children can
learn more effectively in their mother tongue.
15. Additionally, there is a need to provide training in
the Gujjari language to teachers so they can effectively
communicate with and educate these children. Another
pressing issue is the scholarships provided to these children.
While they currently receive financial support, the amount of
Rs. 500 per month needs to be increased to better meet their
educational and personal needs.
16. Settling issue of payments for School Acquisition from
villagers: One person namely Mohammad Shaban Dar has
donated 1 kanal of land for the school’s development. He
has been working at the school for the past 20 years, but
facing significant financial hardship. He had a kind request
of compensation for the land he donated, as he is struggling
with financial challenge. In the event there are such cases still
pending, they need to be settled for winning the trust of the
local communities.
17. Simplifying the required interaction with Revenue
Department for providing category certificate: Scholarship
schemes often require students to submit category certificates
as part of the application process. However, the issuance
of these certificates by the concerned revenue authorities
takes a considerable amount of time. As a result, many
students end up missing their opportunity to apply for
scholarships. To address this issue, the process for issuing
category certificates should be made more efficient and
speedy. This will ensure that deserving students can avail
themselves of scholarships without unnecessary delays.
