  ASSESSMENT OF NEP – 2020

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a visionary initiative
aimed at transforming India into a global knowledge superpower.
It builds on the legacies of earlier policies like NEP 1968, which
emphasized compulsory education up to 14 years, and NEP 1986,
which focused on addressing disparities among social groups and
improving education quality. NEP 2020 introduces a transformative
framework built on five pillars: equity, affordability, inclusivity,
equality, and accountability. With its multidisciplinary approach,
the policy bridges the divide between science and arts, offering
flexibility and fostering qualities such as empathy, respect, pluralism,
cleanliness, democratic spirit, and scientific temperament. It aligns
with the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023, focusing on
